In 2024, Miles Elementary School successfully earned authorization as an International Baccalaureate (IB) school. IB World Schools share a common philosophy- a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education that we believe is important for our students.  As an IB World School offering the PYP, we are part of a global community of schools committed to developing knowledgeable, caring young people who will be ready to negotiate their futures successfully and make contributions resulting in a more harmonious and peaceful world.  The official authorization letter is below.

What-IB is a global academic program that L.P. Miles embraces. IB presents both a philosophy and a framework to enhance the whole child’s ability to live, learn, and work in a global world. The Programme focuses on four critical areas of development.

Why- IB, an APS signature program, is designed to provide students with the opportunity to explore unique areas of study in preparation for specialized academic and future career opportunities.
